Description

Here are the pictures and brief descriptions of Frankie, short for Frankenstein.

I believe the term 'Frankenstein' is used to describe machines that are cobbled together from scraps, pieces of other machines, a lot of elbow grease and ingenuity.

This particular model is no different. The fuselage, motor, and wing set were "spare" parts I found in the discount section of my LHS. The tail section were all that remained of a Gypsy Moth by Eflite that Tim used to have until he let me fly it. The radio gear and other parts were from my "basement hobby store".

So the night before, Tim and I had a few drinks, and somewhen around midnight we decided to build a plane. The results were Frankie. After waking up the next morning, finding a plane built on the table in our haze, we of course had to fly it! It was definitely tail heavy and difficult to control, although Tim did manage to control it after we taped extra weight to the nose. I ended up trying to fly it solo a few weeks later, and all but destroyed it.
