Description

Here are the pictures and brief description of Bud's Great Planes Red Bull.

I sort of 'inherited' it from our friend Bud who only put a few of the 'easy break-away hinges' together.

The words I would use to describe this build would not be pretty. The instructions said "Ready to Fly in as little as 4 hours!" I don't know what master model speed builder would complete this task in 4 hours, but it took me about 10 times as long to complete it. Rather flimsy, the undercarriage didn't come back after the maiden, and the aircraft ended up as a belly lander the rest of its life.

Although the kit was not an easy build, the plane did fly good, with 3-D potential. With no correcting tendencies, it went exactly where the pilot pointed it.

The Red Bull's maiden flight. Tim controlled it superbly, and it flew nicely after some center of gravity adjustments. The inadequate for grass landing gear was pretty much sheared off on the first landing.
